ATLAS SIG Circular Economy Webinar
Circular Economy Transition in Hospitality:
The experience of Garden Hotels in Mallorca
March 22, 2024
10.30 – 12.00 CET

The Special Interest Group is happy to organise this webinar focusing on an industry case giver. By doing this the aim is to bridge theory and practice offering a moment of discussion among academia and industry. The industry case giver – Mrs Erica Garcia Nunes from Garden Hotels (Spain) will present their own experience with regards to the transition to Circular Economy: steps, opportunities, and challenges. After her presentation, Erica will be happy to engage in a Q&A session with the audience.

Garden Hotels, a Mallorcan hotel chain, was the first to receive the AENOR circular economy strategy certification in 2021 at EMEA. However, the group has been driving its transformation towards the circular economy for more than 10 years. Our programme of objectives in circular economy includes aspects such as the commitment to “zero-kilometre” products, conscious purchasing, the elimination of single-use plastics in the establishments and the reuse of organic hotel waste to make compost suitable for organic farming.
