ETHOS: Bringing other-than-human perspectives into tourism and hospitality education
A new Erasmus+ project, ETHOS (Enhancing Tourism Higher-education: Other-than-human Systems), responds to this challenge. Coordinated by Hotel Management School Leeuwarden, part of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, ETHOS will run from October 2026 to March 2029. The project is led by Dr Lucia Tomassini from the Professorship Sustainability in Hospitality and Tourism, with the support of Dr Akke Folmer from the European Transformative Futures Institute (ETFI). Lucia and Akke are the coordinators of the SIG on Animals in Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure and ATLAS is associate partner of the ETHOS Project.
